Forms of Print Advertising


Print advertising is a form of advertising that uses physically printed media to reach potential customers. Although, quite an old-aged strategy, print advertising is now being relaxed by the digital forms of advertising available to businesses. Today, people around the world think print advertising is obsolete, that is not actually true as companies are now working on how to combine the digital and physically printed media through magazine and newspaper advertising. Print advertising is however seen as an expensive and difficult media format for result tracking. These are the forms of print advertising, direct mail marketing, business cards, brochures, billboards, banners/signs, newspaper, local sponsorships.

   1.  Direct Mail Marketing

Direct mail marketing is tangible and good for targeting locals directly. It works best if you know for sure the vicinity of your potential customers. Another merit of direct mail marketing is the relevance it still poses even with digital advertising. There’s a higher chance that your message will be read than with digital ads and not just disposed.

   2.  Business Cards

Business cards boast of very low cost and portability. Dozens of business cards can fit into one pocket or wallet or purse, no other form print advertising can do this. Business card saves the day as an effective marketing tool and creates a good first impression.

   3.  Brochures

 Brochures are promotional documents, primarily used to introduce a company, organization, products or services and inform potential customers or members of the public of the benefits. Brochures are more detailed than business cards, they are very effective for targeting a certain audience or showcasing a specific product or service. Some local businesses like stores, airports and hotels, offer to display your brochures to their customers at an affordable rate. These most times work far better than flyers.

   4.  Billboards

Billboard advertising is the of use a large-scale print advertisement to market a company, brand, product, service, or campaign. Billboards are most efficient when placed in high traffic areas, such as along highways and in cities, so they’re seen by the highest number of drivers and pedestrians. Billboards might not be beneficial to some nature of businesses, but some do very much. Local businesses, including auto shops, car dealers, grocery stores, and restaurants, attract customers with billboards every day.

   5.  Banners/Signs

Banners are printed wordings or designs that are used for promotional and advertising purposes. Banners can be hung and set up almost anywhere and come in various shapes and sizes. Besides that, banners can also be kept and reused for a number of times as they are highly durable and are do not have to be permanently installed. Banners are also light weight and flexible, thus allowing it to be transported from place to place easily. You can just carry it by hand and place it wherever you would want it to be without having to have a lot of manpower.

   6.  Newspapers

Adverts in the local paper are a great way to reach your community, especially when it involves sales and promotions. Newspaper advertising can target specific demographics that are traditionally more difficult to reach through other mediums. This allows advertisers to more effectively reach smaller, niche audiences, including those in specific geographical areas.

   7.  Magazines

Magazine advertising are like a one-page brochure for whatever you desire to advertise. Magazine advertising are quite difficult to get rid of because subscribers are stuck in the subscription of their favorite magazine. Magazines also tend to spend more time in the home of subscribers than any other type of print ads.

   8.  Local Sponsorships

Local sponsorship offers funding or products and services to support events, trade shows, teams, nonprofits, or organizations. In exchange, you get business exposure and a chance to connect with new customers. Brand visibility, targeted marketing, consumer perception, efficient lead generation, sales goals, content strategy, audience insights, community goodwill, return on investment, business relationship.
